Sharing most of California’s eastern border, Nevada was, up until recently, known for gambling, entertainment, and the Las Vegas Strip. After the 2016 election, when voters passed a ballot referendum to regulate and tax marijuana like alcohol, Nevada’s claim of the cannabis industry was further crystallized in the state economy, further giving the state a competitive edge when compared to a majority of the world’s other sovereign states still maintaining prohibitive cannabis laws.
As has been the case thus far, the recreational marijuana industry typically unfolds where a medical marijuana industry exists and, as a result, it is common for medical dispensary brands to migrate to both markets once able and operate simultaneously. While the recreational industry in Nevada is still new, Reef dispensaries had begun their operation several years previous and since have proven to be an entirely new class of cannabis operation.

The Locations
Reef has a total of four (4) dispensary locations in Nevada and two (2) in Arizona and maintains two (2) cultivation and product manufacturing facilities to support their operation. Beyond their own internal capacity for excellence, Reef is the the exclusive retailer of stains and brands such as Tryke, Exotikz, and Khalifa Kush – an exclusively licensed strain bred with all of Wiz Khalifa’s favorite aromas, flavors, and effects in mind.
In Nevada, Reef currently operates two medical dispensaries in the Las Vegas area. As you’d expect (or, at least, hope), Reef has dispensary located close to the strip, adjacent the Wynn. The physical address is 3400 Western Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89109 and the shop is open from 7 a.m. till 3 a.m. The North Las Vegas Reef dispensary is located at 1366 W Cheyenne Ave, North Las Vegas, NV 89030 and – as you’d expect from Las Vegas – is open 24/7!
Not only does Reef operate two of the Las Vegas region’s most reputable marijuana retailers, the company has one of the nation’s largest cultivation and production facilities in the country. At 165,000 square-feet, Reef’s room to grow is limited only by consumer demand. If Colorado or Washington were any sort of example of the possibilities of recreational demand, soon it could be that Reef will be producing a shopping mall worth of products. Until then, Reef has integrated their production to include growing the plants, extracting concentrates, and manufacturing edibles and other infused products under the same roof. This keeps their prices remarkably competitive, if not a downright steal.
Of course, Reef is represented in the Biggest Little City, a.k.a Reno, Nevada. While the dispensary itself is located in Sparks, Reno is just a stone’s throw down the interstate and offers a distinctively engaging, but more low-key gambling and entertainment experience. Located at 195 E Glendale Ave, Sparks, NV 89431, this Reef location functions with much reduced hours (at least when compared with all day, every day) of 8 a.m to 7 p.m.
The final Nevada Reef dispensary location is in Sun Valley, Nevada. Again, within the Reno area, this location boasts a benefit none of the other locations can currently match – a drive thru. While the company website says the drive-thru is coming soon, this location, located at 5105 Sun Valley Blvd, Building B, Sun Valley, NV 89433, is currently open from 8 a.m. til 8 p.m. seven days a week.
The Prices
While lawmakers work out the regulatory platform and licensing procedure for recreational dispensaries, many recreational tourists continue to utilize black-market sales. Luckily for traveling medical patients, Nevada allows reciprocity. Reciprocity means the state will respect the medical marijuana laws of other states as long as the patient respects the marijuana laws of Nevada. For patients – both visiting and local – the exclusive brands and products are just one of the many things Reef just does right.
In general, their prices are beyond competitive. An ounce of flower, for instance, costs anywhere from $180 to $300 depending on the strain. Most of their strains are exclusive blends of genetics which create unrivaled flavors and bring a common personality to their products.
The Staff
Though Reef has yet to publically announce the full plan of what lies ahead for the company, in an interview for The Leafbuyer List: Top 10 Dispensaries in Las Vegas, the owners confirmed matter-of-factly of plans to push into recreational. With a production facility the size of a Wal-Mart and one of the largest tourism markets in the U.S., Reef dispensaries in Nevada have developed their local image around excellent and exclusive products and strain blends, convenient locations, relaxed hours, and –most importantly– a trusting, compassionate staff. Dedicating a good deal of resources in ensuring patients are not only well taken care of, but also are informed of all relevant information along the way.
