Bees and marijuana, what does one have to do with the other? A few weeks ago, I would have said nada, but as it seems they have developed quite a relationship! French Beekeeper Nicolas Trainerbees has developed the world’s first “honey pot plants!“
That’s right: honey produced from marijuana plants — CannaHoney if you will!
How is this possible? In short, bees can utilize resin from the marijuana plant, as they would from any other plant normally, and the honey produced has a little something extra in it for us, cannabinoids such as THC and CBD! It is officially the first naturally occurring edible! Pretty amazing right?
Now, are the bees getting a buzz? Experts say nope; It’s all in a day’s work for the busy workers who appreciate the fresh buds. Other beekeepers and scientists have attempted to naturally unite honey and cannabinoids before, but Nicolas is the first success story. With help from his wife, he trains the bees from their 30 hives in France to produce this magical elixir. So what happens now? Will Nicolas share his secrets? Will we see CannaHoney on dispensary shelves in the next few months? We will keep you posted!
